Position Summary
The Childrens Home is seeking a highly motivated Vocational Specialist to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team in Chenango County. The purpose of ACT is to meet the needs of individuals who have not been well served by traditional service delivery approaches. Grounded in a recoveryoriented practice ACT offers evidencebased treatment rehabilitation case management and support services through a mobile multidisciplinary behavioral health treatment team. The Vocational Specialist will play a key role in integrating employment goals with the services provided by our multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include assessing the impact of mental health on employment developing employment strategies and assisting individuals in finding suitable employment opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Lead responsibility for integrating employment goals with the tasks and services of other team members.
- Assess the impact of the individuals mental health on their ability to obtain and maintain employment.
- Develop and implement employment strategies tailored to the individuals needs and goals.
- Assist individuals in identifying their work interests skills and preferred work environment.
- Provide support and guidance to individuals seeking employment including resume writing job searching and interview preparation.
- Collaborate with community resources and employers to facilitate job placement and retention.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling Social Work Psychology or related field.
Experience
- Experience working with individuals with mental health challenges in vocational settings.
- Drivers License and ability to maintain insurability throughout employment required.
