Chemours is seeking Senior Director of Pigment Operations. The Senior Director of Operations will lead the Chemours Titanium Technologies (TT) global manufacturing operations for our TiO2 pigments business. The Titanium Technologies business has three large plants for their pigment production located in Altamira Mexico DeLisle Mississippi and New Johnsonville Tennessee. These operations are high hazard chemical manufacturing facilities with a total headcount of approximately 1300 Chemours employees and 1500 contractors. The Pigments Operations Senior Director is responsible for the safety asset reliability product quality cost of manufacture capital prioritization and deployment and operational efficiency of the manufacturing organization. You work closely with other functions of the organization such as Business R&D Supply Chain and Procurement. Key performance objectives include safety quality cost OEE production to plan and employee engagement through leveraging industry best practices and collaborating crossfunctionally to solve problems and create opportunities to improve performance and cost of manufacturing. You are part of the Titanium Technology (TT) Global Business team and contribute to the overall TT strategy. Together with your counterparts in the other Chemours business units you contribute to leveraging best practices as a key member of the Operations Board of Chemours and in collaboration with the global Manufacturing Center of Excellence.

The responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and execute longterm operations and manufacturing strategies aligned to the business strategy of TT
  • Responsible for overall operations of multiple global manufacturing facilities including production maintenance manufacturing technology capital and quality
  • Inspire and direct manufacturing site leadership to deliver operational excellence overseeing the implementation of continuous improvements to processes that increase productivity reliability capacity and profitability and support strategic growth plans of the business.
  • Execute asset care and responsible care strategies and monitor to ensure consistent and effective improvement
  • Cost management to deliver cost competitive and appropriate variable and fixed Cost of Manufacture targets to maximize the value for key stakeholders.
  • Effectively lead and develop diverse teams fostering a collaborative work environment
  • Build strong relationships and collaborate with crossfunctional teams including supply chain enterprise capital commercial technology and leveraged engineering.
  • Understand business value drivers and how to optimize them to drive results.
  • Build maintain and leverage relationships with internal and external key stakeholders.
  • Assures the right and privilege to operate is maintained by meeting permitting requirements and proactively & positively engaging with the community.
  • Ensures ontime/onbudget completion of capital projects.

The following is required for this role:

  • 15 years of experience in operations manufacturing chemistry/chemical engineering or a related discipline with specific leadership experience in a global manufacturing high hazard process environment.
  • Experience leading facilities covered by OSHA 1910.119 Process Safety Management particularly in Highly Hazardous Chemical manufacturing processes
  • Proven track record in driving productivity and performance continuous improvement and implementing best practices in challenging environments.
  • Experience with manufacturing transformation and change management to enhance operations.
  • Strong drive for safety demonstrated record of positive safety practices and culture with commitment to EHS development and compliance.
  • Ability to motivate and engage employees through creating and articulating a compelling vision and strategy while emphasizing collaboration and inclusion.
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Ability to maintain relationships communicate and collaborate across all levels of the organization from shop floor to the csuite and board of directors.
  • Exhibits high level of drive integrity and energy; a change agent that motivates and inspires others with a passion for innovation.
  • Strong leadership skill with experience in designing and developing a diverse inclusive organization to drive the vision.
  • Ability to develop and deliver on a complex budget.

The incentive pay is dependent on business results and individual performance and subject to the terms and conditions of the specific plans.
