Job Description
HSE Specialist
Salary: $
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop implement and maintain health safety and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local state and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify hazards and mitigate potential risks in the workplace.
- Coordinate training programs for employees on health and safety practices emergency procedures and hazard recognition.
- Prepare and submit reports on HSE compliance incidents and corrective actions to management and regulatory agencies.
- Investigate accidents and incidents providing recommendations for prevention and improvements to workplace safety.
- Serve as the point of contact for HSE concerns advising management and staff on best practices and compliance requirements.
- Promote a culture of safety within the organization by encouraging reporting of unsafe conditions and behaviors.
- Stay current on industry trends regulations and best practices in health safety and environmental management.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science or a related field.
- Certification in HSE management (e.g. NEBOSH IOSH or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of applicable federal state and local HSE regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
Desired Experience:
- A minimum of 35 years of experience in health safety and environmental roles preferably within a corporate or industrial environment.
- Experience in conducting HSE audits and risk assessments.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful health and safety programs.
- Experience working with corporate compliance management systems is a plus.
