Job Description

Location: Alberta travel required including overnight travel (about 20

Position type: full time permanent

Reports to: Director of Sales Ply Gem Canada

POSITION SUMMARY: To be responsible for daily operations as well as achievement for all goals / targets / expenses approved under the branches budget.  This individual must be knowledgeable of all Ply Gem Canada procedures as well as all sales processes.  This individual must have extensive product knowledge as well as an understanding of all salesrelated issues pertaining to his / her marketplace.  This individual must be able to operate independently as well as a part of a cohesive team.  This person has exceptional communications skills coupled with the ability to achieved desired results.  It is imperative this individual is active with the branchs major accounts regarding sales marketing negotiations product knowledge and service.  Duties include assisting Sales in prospecting new accounts.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:

  • Prospect new business on behalf of the branch in conjunction with Sales staff
  • Prospects to be tracked through CRM and include but not limited to:
  1. Architects / Designers / Specifiers
  2. General Contractors
  3. Builders
  4. Renovators
  • Dealers (Buy Group Box Store and Independent)
  • Complete knowledge of all products and their functions
  • Conduct sales/branch meetings as required.
  • Professionally represent the organization at various industryrelated associations
  • Negotiate and close pricing on projects as well as pricing to various customers
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customer base
  • Understand the competitors products and develop actions to assist Sales ensuring competitive advantage
  • Monitor pricing and discounts to maximize opportunities
  • Work with senior management and other departments towards the development of products and processes that will maximize future opportunities for the company as a whole
  • Supervise train assist and advise all inside and outside representatives
  • Responsible for hiring discipline and termination of Sales staff
  • Effectively manage Channel conflict in the best interest of the organization
  • Monthly reporting on all location / region sales activities
  • Travel between locations in BC will be required
  • Work in conjunction with sales leadership.  Constant pipeline growth is required.

AUTHORITY:

  • Has the authority to negotiate pricing with customers up to a communicated level
  • Has the authority to sign and approve employee expense statements branchspecific invoices Credits advertising agreements lowdiscount orders etc.
  • Has the authority to hire and dismiss direct reports.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent preferably in Business Management an asset but not required
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows as well as Word Excel and Power Point
  • 25 years of previous management or supervisory experience preferably in the construction industry
  • Proven leadership skills

Effective written and verbal communication skills
