Biomedical Engineering Summer Student Co-op

Biomedical Engineering Department is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated student to join our team for the summer. As a biomedical engineering student working in a hospital setting your tasks will typically be more supportive and learningfocused. Youll assist experienced biomedical engineering technologists gain handson experience with medical equipment and help with documentation and compliance support various departments and contribute to the overall patient and staff experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in inspecting testing calibrating and repairing medical devices like infusion pumps and bladder scanners.
• Work alongside biomedical technologists and collaborate with healthcare providers and Vendors.
• Use CMMS to update asset information analyze data on equipment performance and failure rates.

• Assist with data entry report preparation and document organization. 

• Support staff with project coordination research and analysis. 
• Provide administrative and clerical support.

• Assist with inventory management ordering supplies and restocking. 

• Engage in special projects or research assignments as needed. 

• Adhere to all hospital policies procedures and health & safety regulations.

Qualifications :

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Must be a current student enrolled a Biomedical Engineering program in a postsecondary institution and returning in September to fulltime studies 

• Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills 

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook) is an asset 

• Must be reliable punctual and adaptable to different tasks 

• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada 

Additional Information :

Site: Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital with travel to other sites as needed (Milton & Georgetown)

Status: Temporary Fulltime (Approx. 3 months)

Hours: Monday to Friday; Days 7.5 hour shifts (Hours are subject to change based on operational requirements)

Salary:  $20.710 per hour
