Job Description
Everest Carbon is a fastgrowing climate technology startup specializing in innovative sensor technology for the commercialization of negative emissions. Our mission is to enable 1 billion tons of CO2 removed per year by 2035 through our products and services.
As Head of R&D you lead the development of our proprietary hardware sofware and IoT solutions. You manage a multidisciplinary team of scientists engineers and technicians to deliver R&D milestones validate sensors in realworld conditions and scale technology to TRL 9 and beyond. You align technical objectives with business goals while fostering a culture of innovation.
You will be part of the leadership team and report directly to the CoFounder/CEO.
Tasks
- Lead the R&D team in developing nextgeneration sensor technology and IoT solutions.
- Own the R&D roadmap and ensure timely delivery of R&D milestones.
- Drive the continuous integration of hardware and software development processes.
- Collaborate with the product and business team to align technical development with customer needs and market demands.
- Own and drive our IP strategy and patenting building strategic technology moats.
- Build a worldclass R&D team fostering a culture of innovation learning and excellence.
- Identify and manage external partnerships and research collaborations.
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent experience in physics applied physics electrical engineering materials science chemical engineering or related background.
- Strong background in sensing technologies or environmental monitoring technologies.
- Proven experience leading R&D teams and scaling technology from lab to commercial deployment.
- Handson experience in setting up and managing modern research labs.
- Strong crossfunctional collaboration skills to work with business engineering and product teams.
- Familiarity with embedded systems ion exchange resins and scalable manufacturing techniques for sensor technology is a big plus.
- Startup experience or previous leadership roles in deep tech/hardware companies is a big plus.
