Manager CVICU and PCU Position Description Position Name: Manager CVICU and PCU Facility Name: HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital Shift Details: Days HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital is a 221bed acute care hospital. We serve the communities of Seminole and West Volusia County. At HCA Healthcare we are committed to the care and improvement of human life. We are a Level II Trauma Center. We provide the only fullservice cardiovascular program. Our program offers openheart surgery and interventional cardiology. Electrophysiology cardiac rehabilitation and comprehensive diagnostic services are also offered by this program. Other services that we provide include orthopedic and spine care as well as robotic surgery. We offer acute inpatient medical rehabilitation and complete imaging services. Job Summary: The Manager ensures high quality patientcentered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the unit/department. The Manager monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures and holds staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives. What you will do in this role: Helps create a superior clinical identity by operationalizing evidencebased practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes. Ensures adherence to standards of care. Supports efforts to reduce variation in clinical practice and improve efficiency effectiveness and cost. Ensures a culture of accountability and transparency in the provision of care. Supports the achievement of internal/external benchmarks accreditations and designations. Ensures compliance with all policies procedures and regulatory standards. Ensures equipment maintenance is performed regularly and according to regulatory and/or accreditation standards. Manages admissions and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality patientcentered care. Facilitates effective interdisciplinary care coordination within and across departments. Ensures staff with appropriate clinical competencies are assigned to meet patient care needs. Manages nursing practice and unit operations. Monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures to ensure patient and family needs are assessed and met. Provides leadership in attaining and sustaining an unparalleled patient experience. Instills accountability for providing consistent positive patient interactions that differentiate the organization as a healthcare leader. Leads in a way that inspires commitment to the vision/mission/values of the organization. Implements evidencebased employee engagement practices. Manages staff scheduling. Maintains staffing in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines. Manages operating expenses including the utilization of supplies and equipment. Identifies cost reduction opportunities and implements actions to achieve savings. What qualifications you will need: 12 years of RECENT ACUTE CARE CVICU leadership experience REQUIRED (need recent leadership ideally as a Manager or Supervisor but will review Charge/ANM candidates). Strongly prefer candidates having 35 years of Staff level CVICU experience on top of their leadership experience. CANDIDATES MUST HAVE CVICU EXPERIENCE NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date Basic Cardiac Life Support or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date Advanced Cardiac Life Spt or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour or PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date Associate Degree or Registered Nurse Diploma Registered Nurse or Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Benefits HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital offers a total rewards package that supports the health life career and retirement of our colleagues.
