Overview
The Fullstack Test Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and performance of software applications across the full technology stack from frontend to backend. This role involves designing developing and executing comprehensive testing strategies to identify and resolve issues before they reach the enduser. In an agile development environment the Fullstack Test Engineer collaborates closely with developers product managers and other stakeholders to integrate testing processes smoothly into the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The importance of this role lies in its ability to improve product reliability user satisfaction and ultimately drive business success through enhanced software quality. By leveraging a mix of manual and automated testing methodologies the Fullstack Test Engineer ensures that both functional and nonfunctional requirements are met thus contributing to continuous deployment and integration practices vital for today s fastpaced software development landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design develop and implement automated test scripts for software applications.
- Conduct comprehensive testing activities across various layers of the application.
- Collaborate with development teams to understand software requirements and technical specifications.
- Create and maintain test plans cases and scripts based on requirements.
- Identify document and track defects providing clear feedback for resolution.
- Perform regression testing to ensure existing functionality is not impacted by new changes.
- Participate in code reviews and design reviews to assess testability.
- Utilize performance testing tools to measure application scalability.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for efficient development cycles.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve software development processes.
- Monitor application performance using various monitoring tools.
- Conduct API testing to verify service interactions and data exchanges.
- Adhere to best practices in both quality assurance and software development.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies related to testing and development.
- Mentor junior test engineers and provide training as necessary.
- Document testing procedures and create reports on test results for stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance.
- Strong proficiency in test automation frameworks and tools.
- Experience with fullstack development (e.g. React Node.js or similar technologies).
- Solid understanding of databases and SQL for backend testing.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Proficient in at least one programming language such as Java Python or JavaScript.
- Experience with version control systems preferably Git.
- Knowledge of API testing tools like Postman or SoapUI.
- Understanding of performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Strong understanding of software testing concepts and methodologies.
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams.
- Experience in cloudbased environments or DevOps practices is a plus.
- Certifications in software testing (e.g. ISTQB) are an advantage.
