Job Description
Mechanical Fitter Johannesburg
Are you a skilled Mechanical Fitter looking for a new challenge Join a dynamic and fastpaced industrial environment where your expertise will be crucial in maintaining and optimizing mechanical systems. This is an exciting opportunity for a handson professional who thrives in a highperformance setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate assemble and repair structural components of mechanical systems.
- Install maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Perform welding and fabrication (MIG TIG arc welding) including cutting grinding and shaping metal components.
- Diagnose and repair pumps motors gearboxes and other rotating equipment.
- Maintain conveyor systems including assembly and fault detection.
- Work with boilers steam systems bearings shafts pipework and valves.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and ensure optimal performance.
Requirements:
- Trade Test Certificate (Mechanical Fitting) Red Seal preferred.
- N3 Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in a refinery manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Strong understanding of ISO HACCP and GMP standards (if applicable to foodgrade processing).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a keen eye for detail and problemsolving skills.
- Strong adherence to health and safety regulations including PPE usage and lockout/tagout procedures.
