The Eligibility Specialist plays a crucial role in our organization by evaluating and determining the eligibility of individuals for various programs and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of eligibility criteria regulations and procedures as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review and assess applicants eligibility for programs and services based on established criteria.
2. Collect and verify required documentation to support eligibility determinations.
3. Conduct interviews with applicants to gather relevant information and clarify eligibility requirements.
4. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of eligibility applications.
5. Maintain detailed records of eligibility decisions and communicate outcomes to applicants.
6. Stay uptodate on regulatory changes and updates related to eligibility requirements.
7. Provide exceptional customer service to applicants and stakeholders throughout the eligibility process.
8. Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute ideas to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelors degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience.
2. Previous experience in eligibility determination social services or related fields preferred.
3. Strong knowledge of federal state and local eligibility regulations and guidelines.
4. Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with a keen attention to detail.
5. Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of individuals.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
7. Ability to work independently prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
8. Certification in eligibility determination or related field is a plus.
