As a Senior Park Aide working in the beautiful Olympic Peninsula Area you will be a Park Aide team leader. Employing exceptional attention to detail and wellpracticed organization skills you will have the opportunity to lead and work beside a team of motivated hardworking natureloving Park Aides in the goal of successfully maintaining our area State Parks as clean welcoming and vibrant recreational outlet for all to enjoy. With hard work and commitment to your team a Senior Park Aide has the ability to make a visible impact on our State Parks along the Hood Canal.
The Senior Park Aide is supported by an exceptional team of Rangers an outstanding and proactive Maintenance crew and a cadre of approachable Administrators and Managers. You will have the chance to work outside with your team in the beautiful Olympic Peninsula. Senior Park Aide tasks range from humble bathroom cleaning to meticulous grounds maintenance using a variety of equipment. Applying your timetested customer service skills your team will run the Ranger Station and make sure campers and customers alike are taken care of!
Under the supervision of a Park Ranger this position is essential to Washington State Parks mission of operating enhancing interpreting and protecting our parks recreational cultural historical and natural sites. This position assists with the aforementioned mission and related tasks and serves as a lead training park aide and volunteer staff in daily operations and routine maintenance of the park. The Senior Park Aide may also lead Park Aide staff and volunteers in task delegation and other communication.
Duties include but are not limited to:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Twelve 12 months of experience in building maintenance or grounds keeping or performing semiskilled/general carpentry electrical and/or plumbing repair work.
OR
Six 6 months cumulative experience as a Park Aide (or equivalent).
OR
Twelve 12 months experience in a special employment program (Washington Conservation Corps) with a parks agency. A combination of experience (WCC and Park Aide) may be used provided candidate has at least three months experience as a Park Aide (or equivalent).
