Job Description

Job Title: ECG/EKG Electrocardiogram) Technician
Location: Mather CA 95655
Start Date: April 2025
Duration: 12 Months (Options for 26 weeks Contract)
Shift Schedule: 40 hours per week
Qualification
Certification: EKG/EEG Technician
Experience: Minimum of 1year direct patient care experience within the last 3 years in the field.
Job Summary
ECG/EKG Technician is responsible for performing electrocardiograms (EKGs) stress tests and monitoring heart rhythms in patients. The technician ensures proper lead placement accurate recording of cardiac data and immediate reporting of abnormal findings to healthcare providers. They work closely with cardiology Nuclear Medicine and other medical teams to ensure highquality patient care.
Responsibilities
  • Perform EKGs and stress tests following cardiology and Nuclear Medicine protocols.
  • Ensure proper lead placement for accurate recording and assessment.
  • Notify providers immediately of unexpected arrhythmias or ST/T wave changes.
  • Respond to emergency codes and STAT requests for urgent EKGs/stress tests.
  • Assist providers with stress testing in Nuclear Medicine Cardiac Catheter Lab and Cardiology clinics.
  • Monitor patients physiological status during testing and recovery reporting adverse symptoms.
  • Prepare and instruct patients before diagnostic testing ensuring safety during stress tests.
  • Operate and manage Holter scanners and printers detecting and recording abnormal heart rhythms.
  • Maintain and input test data into the computer system within two weeks of completion.
  • Ensure all tests are reviewed and signed by a Cardiologist and accessible to providers.
