Job Description

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related education with 5 years of relevant experience or masters and 2 years of relevant experience.
  • 2 years of management or technical leadership experience.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance which requires US Citizenship.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Nuclear Engineering Degree and professional nuclear experience
  • Specialized Experience MCNP KCode modeling experience

Job Information:

  • The target pay range for this position is $138143 $209345 annually. The full pay range is $105516 $269052. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education relevant experience and other credentials.
  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a preemployment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Criticality Safety Engineering Manager to work in our Environment Safety Health and Quality department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls Facility with every other Friday off.

You will manage a department of engineers and operations specialists that authors controls in collaboration with research operations and other safety organizations. You will plan yearly and 5year strategies for the criticality safety department. You will report to the Director of Nuclear Safety and Assurance.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing directing and implementing the INL Criticality Safety Program.
  • Providing technical and administrative direction for delivery of the Criticality Safety Program compliant to DOE and ANSI/ANS8 industry standard requirements.
  • Ensuring that the criticality safety program and criticality safety evaluations performed are safe compliant cost effective responsive and meet quality requirements.
  • Interfacing and engaging Operations and other Laboratory organizations to coordinate program implementation.
  • Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself other individuals or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning resource allocation human resources modeling leadership techniques production methods and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
  • Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing managing files and records designing forms and workplace terminology.
  • Ability to communicate information both written and verbally.
  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to establish controls that are easily understood and executable.
