Civil Engineering Project Manager

As a Civil Engineering Project Manager you will work on exciting sitecivil design and land development projects (both public and private) in the MidAtlantic Region. Reporting to the Bowie MD office successful candidates will perform engineering tasks while taking on project management responsibilities and leading teams to ensure successful project delivery. This role offers opportunities to expand your individual responsibilities as part of a growing team while working in the central Maryland region.

Responsibilities:

Design & Engineering

• Lead all design aspects including layout grading earthwork stormwater management utilities and erosion control.
• Conduct field investigations to assess existing conditions and project needs.
• Prepare and submit design packages for agency review and approval.
• Ensure designs meet federal state and local codes and regulations.
• Draft and review technical specifications to align with client needs and project requirements.

Project Management

• Manage all phases of sitecivil engineering projects from inception to completion ensuring adherence to schedules budgets and quality standards.
• Lead project teams coordinating with internal staff clients contractors and stakeholders to meet project objectives.
• Oversee project documentation including contracts permits and change orders.
• Monitor project progress addressing challenges to maintain timelines and budgets.
• Develop and manage project schedules proactively resolving delays or obstacles.
• Track project budgets produces invoices reviews deliverables ensuring financial targets are met and resources are efficiently allocated.
• Performstasksinsupportofprojectschedulingcostsdocumentsandreportingactivities.(Developproject datasuchasfeeestimatesearnedvaluestatusreports costreportsbacklog projectionsandresourceneeds.
• Oversee project deliverables ensuring timely submissions to agencies for review and approval.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

• Maintain effective communication with clients to ensure project goals and expectations are met.
• Occasionally travel to project sites for site visits meetings and project assessments.

Permitting & Compliance

• Participate in local state and federal permitting processes.
• Ensure compliance with design specifications and permit requirements through asbuilt drawings.

Qualifications:

• B.S. in civil engineering or related field.
• 8 years of sitecivil engineering experience.
• 5 years of project management experience with knowledge of applicable regulations.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license (MD or PA)
• Ability to complete Kleinfelders project manager qualification within one year.
• Proficiency in MS Office AutoCAD MicroStation Civil 3D and Revit.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers project managers supervisors and other team members.
• Valid drivers license and safe driving record.

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Maryland Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: $109244$182320.
