Department of Policy Organizational and Leadership Studies

TenureTrack Open Rank Faculty Position

Educational Leadership

Position: The Department of Policy Organizational and Leadership Studies within the College of Education and Human Development at Temple University invites applications to fill an open rank tenured/tenuretrack faculty position in Educational Leadership beginning in Fall 2025. Temples Educational Leadership programs focuses on school and school district leadership and management; and organizational development change and transformation within schools and organizations in community settings. The compelling candidate shall have a productive research agenda with an established record of publications and grants or potential for attracting external funding for research commensurate with their career level. In addition to maintaining an active externally funded program of research the responsibilities of the position include teaching graduate courses advising and guiding doctoral students and participating in department college and professional service activities.

Qualifications: Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in school or organizational leadership Sociology Organizational Psychology Urban Education or related field; evidence of and/or potential for developing an externally funded program of research; and experience in teaching universitylevel courses in one or more of the following areas: educational leadership organizational dynamics civic leadership research methods and statistics. Rank is open with possible hires at the rank of assistant associate or full professor depending on qualifications. For early career applicants (i.e. assistant professor) preferred candidates include individuals currently holding the rank of assistant professor or who recently earned a doctorate degree or recently completed a postdoctoral position with external funding. For midcareer and senior applicants (associate professor and full professors) preferred candidates shall have an active externally funded research portfolio; research record appropriate to warrant a tenured appointment at the rank of associate or full professor; and experience serving in higher education administration department chair or other educational leadership roles.
