Your Role: The Sun is looking to bring in a sharp and motivated Foreign News Reporter to join Fleet Streets most dynamic operation.
You will be joining a large and exciting team covering foreign news in a historic period of seismic world events.
As a casual reporter you will have the opportunity to be offered fulltime work while still enjoying some flexibility and the ability to accrue holiday pay.
Day to day you will:
Come brimming with ideas on how best to cover world events.
Be comfortable working across platforms including appearing on camera.
Have a strong work ethic and an ability to work to directives and deadlines.
You will deal well with pressure and be a team player.
Work as part of a team and be able to contribute across a range of subjects.
Have an instinct for how to sell a digital story to get maximum impact on The Suns platforms and also on social media.
Have excellent news judgement.
Help present stories in visually striking ways through the use of images composites and videos.
Work independently to make wellinformed and quick decisions.
Flexible attitude to working hours across seven days day or evening
What we are looking for from you:
Experience reporting at a national news organisation OR at least two years of experience reporting at local news level.
A working knowledge of the IPSO Code of Conduct media law and ethical considerations.
Knowledge of social media SEO and online publishing.
Excellent writing skills especially the ability to bring vibrancy and clarity to articles with very tight deadlines.
An understanding of The Sun brand both in print and digital.
