Job Description
Indiana University Bloomington Luddy School of Informatics Computing and Engineering Leung Research Group Department of Intelligent Systems Engineering Postdoctoral Fellow in metaoptics research The Leung Research group at Luddy School of Informatics Computing and Engineering in Bloomington Indiana invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow position from highly driven and creative people who are excited to develop stateoftheart biophotonic technologies using novel light manipulation strategies. The researcher who joins our team for this project will spearhead the development of metasurfaces and metaoptics capable of noninvasively studying the adaptive mechanisms in living systems. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in metaoptics biosensing and structured light. The ideal start date for the position is January 1 2025 (negotiable). The Leung Research Groups vision is to develop impactful optical imaging and sensing technologies capable of deciphering the rules of life. Our group seeks to sculpt and exploit the various degrees of freedom of light to create tailored optical beams that strengthen our capability to extract structural and functional information from biosystems. Our research is powered by an interdisciplinary team with expertise in optics imaging quantum physics and computer science. We seek candidates who possess excellent professionalism and enthusiasm in their work good communication skills which promote positive interactions in the lab strong ability to problemsolve and think critically and ability to thrive in a collaborative crossdisciplinary fastpaced working environment. Experiences and/or knowledge in one or more of the following areas is preferred but not required: Biosensing nanophotonics design wavefront sensing optical imaging design or imaging with sculpted/structured light.
