RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RIMUHC) is a worldrenowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal Quebec the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RIMUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Qubec Sant (FRQS).
Position summary
Under the general supervision of the Manager Oncology Research of the Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM) the incumbent is responsible for administering and adjusting treatments and medications to research cancer patients while ensuring the successful conduct of clinical research studies.
The Centre for Innovative Medicine is located in the Glen site hospital which is a unique center in Canada of 5000m2 dedicated exclusively to clinical research.
General Duties
Acts as a resource person to assist in the care of the research patient requiring complex care
Administers chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments to oncology research patients
Infuses blood products when necessary
Evaluates the health status of oncology research patients
Determines if research patient can continue their treatments
Works closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure proper care and oversight to the research patient and their families in clinical research trials
Provides appropriate resources to patients
Ensures proper research documentation
Reviews and documents protocol trainings.

Education / Experience
Education
Bachelors degree in nursing or DEC in nursing is required
Good standing member of the OIIQ
Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in medical/surgical ICU or Emergency Room
Experience in Oncology (hematology and/or solid tumors) administration of cancer treatments is preferred
Clinical research experience is preferred
Experience in multicenter project management is an asset.
Required Skills
Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Health Canada Division 5 certifications an asset
Bilingual: French and English spoken and written to be able to efficiently communicate with patients and staff
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Able to work under minimal supervision
Selfdirected flexible organized with a good sense of work ethics.
Additional information
Status : FullTime 35 hours per week)
Pay Scale: Commensurate to qualifications and experience
with DEC : $43316.00 $80425.80
with Bachelors : $54327.00 $100882.60
Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8 am to 4 pm
Work Site: Centre for Innovative Medicine MUHC Glen Site Oncology Satellite Cedars Cancer Centre. May have to travel between the centres on occasion.
