Ontario Health atHome is looking for an experienced and strategic leader for the role of Director Human Resources. This role is essential in driving organizational excellence by providing direction and oversight across human resources employee relations and labour relations. The Director will shape Human Resources strategy lead collective bargaining and ensure compliance with policies and legislation all while fostering a culture of equity inclusion diversity and antiracism (EIDAR).

What Will You Do
Reporting to the Vice President Human Resources Organizational Development and Equity the Director Human Resources drives organizational excellence by ensuring Human Resources leading practices and programs policies procedures systems and tools that position Ontario Health atHome as an employer of choice. The Director Human Resources provides leadership and direction to a team of Human Resources professionals in the development and delivery of programs and services and in collaboration with other organizational leaders and key partners plans for workforce planning talent management organizational effectiveness and capacity building.
- Plans researches develop deliver and evaluates and continuously improves programs in the Human Resources portfolio.
- Oversees the provision and delivery of quality innovative Human Resources programs and service based on evidence based on leading practices.
- In consultation with the Vice President Human Resources Organizational Development and Equity develops delivers executive and evaluates a Human Resources strategy that guides all facets of the employee life cycle (attract recruit onboard develop retain).
- Provides direction and oversight for development and delivery of the collective bargaining strategy function.
- Leads the bargaining process for Collective Agreements; identifies issues for inclusion in labour negotiations and oversees administration of Collective Agreements.
- Determines and recommends labour relations strategies and approaches to senior leadership.
- Provide expert advice and counsel to management regarding collective agreement administration and the resolution of employee relations matters and labour relations grievance concerns.
- Oversees and maintains the integrity of the job evaluation system working with and providing advice to internal job evaluation committees and maintains pay equity.
- Leads the development of a safety culture; supports occupational health and safety strategies and activities; develops and integrates a healthy workplace approach in organizational effectiveness initiatives; supports employees in being actively responsible for their health and wellbeing.
- Provides input into annual budget planning process and is accountable for ongoing monitoring and management of department budget
- Develops identifies and prioritizes budget requirements allocates available resources in accordance with Ontario Health atHome priorities identifies trends in costs affecting allocation of resources and takes action
- Build positive respectful relationships with union officials and defuse employee relations issues proactively.
- Conduct workforce analysis and implement HR planning processes to support organizational goals and avoid unnecessary labour costs.
- Drive policy development ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and health and safety standards.
- Promote an inclusive and supportive workplace culture through EIDAR principles and continuous quality improvement.
What Must You Have
- Degree in Human Resources Labour Relations or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CHRL designation required.
- 7 to 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience including 35 years in a labour relations management role.
- Proven knowledge of leading practice in Human Resources and Labour Relations and demonstrated of these practices into Human Resources programs and services.
- Superior knowledge of Human Resources analytics and demonstrated ability to utilize data and metrics to continuously monitor and improve Human Resources service.
- Exceptional change management and communications skills with the ability to drive alignment and engagement.
- Proven leadership skills demonstrated through progressive experience in large and complex health and human services delivery organizations
- A valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle
