Job Summary: Injects radioisotopes & images patients. Provides diagnostic images to physicians. Venipuncture. Transfers patients. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Duties/Responsibilities: Protects visual & other access to patient specific & other confidential information from public viewincluding computer screens. Removes &/or shreds patient specific or other confidential information as per policy. Passwords are never disclosed & computers are locked when not in use. Understands read back of verbal orders/critical lab values & can state process. Understands procedure to clarify physician orders. Uses standing orders when indicated. Performs chart audits appropriately & completely. Participates in EHR review if requested. Accurately calls report to MD as warranted by condition reports to others as needed. Reports sentinel events or adverse drug reactions or incidents as warranted. Uses only approved abbreviations. Understands patient safety goals & actions taken. Reports to manager potential infectious diseases that may/may not compromise patient or team member health. Washes hands when soiled or contaminated. Uses 2 patient identifiers before giving treatments illustrates process. Uses final verification before invasive procedures can verbalize correct process & documents in EHR. Reassesses patient in response to changes in condition after intervention & as needed documents in EHR. Provides treatments as ordered in a timely & appropriate manner documents in EHR. Provides education to patients & family documents in EHR. Demonstrates awareness of patient rights. Understands the spiritual aspects of patient care & can give examples of such. Uses respect & dignity when dealing with death & dying. Utilizes ethics committee if needed or is aware it exists. Annual education completed on time; attends seminars hands on training & continuing education as appropriate. Able to utilize EHR computerized scheduling filing & purging. Follows MMH policies including proper phone etiquette dress code badge wearing & personal hygiene. Exam ready room properly stocked supplies ready equipment warmed up checked & sanitized. Performs diagnostic nuclear scans per NRC standards Dexa & venipuncture. Required Skills/Abilities: Strong customer service skills communicates well with others. Able to problem solve & multitask. Able to operate applicable hospital equipment. Education and Experience: Associate s degree or equivalent majoring in Nuclear Medicine Radiology Registered as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist NMTCB by the ARRT; CPR certified Minimum 1 year relevant work experience.
