JOB OVERVIEW

Job Title: Physician Emergency Medicine

Job Type: Locum Tenens

Location: Chalmette LA

Service Setting: Hospital

Coverage Type: Clinical Only

Coverage Period: June 2025 Ongoing

Clinical Shift Schedule: 7a 7p 2p 12a 7p 7a (Physicians); 9a 9p (NP/PA)

PATIENT INFORMATION

Patient Demographics: Adults

Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 79 patients per day (Annual ED volume: 28415

Admissions: 8.7 of patients admitted

Case Mix: General Emergency Medicine

FACILITY INFORMATION

No. of Beds in Department: 10 (ED & Fast Track)

EMR System: Ochsner EPIC

Specialty Backup Available: Cardiology Endocrinology Pulmonary Urology Gastroenterology ICU Orthopedics Psychiatry Radiology General Surgery

Support Staff Available: MD/DO coverage 34 hours) NP/PA coverage 12 hours)

Reason for Coverage: Staffing coverage need

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

Temporary Privileges Available: Yes with clean file

Credentialing Timeline: 30 60 days

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Rate: TBD

Travel Lodging and Malpractice Insurance: Covered

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

Emergency medical procedures consistent with general hospital emergency medicine practice

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Active Louisiana medical license required

BE/BC in Emergency Medicine Family Medicine or Internal Medicine; If not ABEM certified ACLS ATLS and PALS required

Relevant Emergency Medicine experience

EMR proficiency (Epic); Orientation EMR training and shadow shift required

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver highquality patient care in a fastpaced emergency department

Collaborate with advanced practice providers and multidisciplinary team

Accurately document all encounters using Ochsner EPIC

Participate in onboarding including orientation EMR training and shadowing

Ensure care aligns with current emergency medicine standards and protocols
