Description

Rockhurst University is seeking applications for our Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions for the College of Arts and Sciences position. The purpose of this position is to recruit students into the graduate programs for the College of Arts & Sciences which include the Masters of Industrial Organizational Psychology Masters of Education the doctorate education program and certificate programs such as Medical Spanish and DEI. This position is the contact for Keypath to assist in connecting students to the academic advising personnel and answers questions on courses and cost. This person holds monthly information sessions to attract students into the program. This person develops relationships with partner school officials including Catholic schools and KCPS to promote the partnership discounts in place.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop a working knowledge of Rockhurst University and assigned programs and certificates distinctives requirements policies and procedures.
  • Work with faculty supervisors and department chairs to formulate and implement recruitment strategies plans and enrollment goals for assigned graduate programs based on market research and admissions data.
  • Represent the University and assigned graduate programs and certificates at recruitment events college and career fairs association meetings student organization etc. Regional travel with some evening and weekend commitments required.
  • Initiate and maintain relationships with prospective students influencers stakeholders and partners via phone email text message and inperson communication.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with academic advisors faculty agency and community officials at colleges universities schools and organizations.
  • Strategically identify and cultivate relationships with key feeder postsecondary institutions professional organizations businesses and school districts with the greatest potential for enrollment success.
  • Coordinate Rockhurstspecific graduate recruitment information sessions open houses interview days and other events for CAS which include EdD Masters of Education certificate programs and the Master of Industrial Organizational Psychology.
  • Monitor admission trends in critical markets and implement contingency plans as needed.
  • Manage the application submission document management file review and decision communication processes in collaboration with each assigned department outside vendors and admissions colleagues via Slate.
  • Maintain accurate reports and records pertaining to travel and communication activities.
  • Some evenings and weekends may be required.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of higher education admission and recruitment practices principles trends and strategies especially as it relates to programs and departments within the College of Arts and Sciences.
  • Knowledge of the principles practices and techniques of customer and student service.
  • Knowledge of project management and organizational practices.
  • Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools and higher education student information systems.
  • Skill in independently performing organizing and prioritizing work activities.
  • Skill in verbal presentation and written communication.
  • Skill in relationship development and management through sales and or service experience.
  • Skill in the use of computers and related software including Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook PowerPoint etc.
  • Ability to produce reports analyze and evaluate recruitment activities and territory trends.
  • Ability to develop and conduct group presentations targeted to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to professionally and concisely communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse audience.

This position requires a Bachelors degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND at least two 2 years of related experience; OR any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge skills and abilities have been achieved.
