Role: Senior Infrastructure engineer
JD: Reporting to the Head of Service & Infrastructure this role is responsible for providing 2nd and 3rd level technical support for business users within Clarien Bank and if necessary to its affiliated companies as well as maintaining the backup infrastructure and devices. The position will focus on service delivery excellence and supporting junior engineers within the IT Infrastructure team.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the daytoday support of end user computing technology. This will include but not be limited to Virtual & Physical Desktops Physical and virtual servers and related peripheral devices such as printers copiers facsimile machines and modems.
- Prioritizes troubleshoots and resolves system issues as they relate to the priority of the Helpdesk tickets.
- Assists with the development of documentation for all system areas assigned to work in and ensuring documentation is available for 1st level technical support personnel.
- Monitors performance and troubleshoots problems.
- Installs hardware and software including network infrastructure and cabling within the Data Center.
- Consults with the Head of Service & Infrastructure and/or vendor on more complex issues.
- Tests hardware software and network related operating systems to assess usability and recommend software purchases to reduce risk of network failures.
- Works with IT management to research and test new technologies that have the potential to benefit the organization once implemented.
- Assists with end user support & training and product & service acquisition as required. Work on individual and teambased projects where assigned.
- Performs Daily health checks for the IT environment including but not limited to: Servers SAN Phone system Backup and replication devices and systems.
- Work with the other engineers to provide oncall coverage 24 x 7.
- Manages the audit software and policies for all printers faxes and other devices throughout the Bank and affiliated companies.
- Patch management of all Windows devices utilizing SCCM.
- Knowledge of High Availability systems including Windows Clustering Network Load Balancing (NLB) and Zerto.
