Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
To collate granular locationbased datasets and conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis at different scales and coverage.
To conduct geostatistical analytical work and conduct comparative spatiotemporal analyses with emphasis on quality assurance and control.
To assist build a geostatistical geodemographic and geoSDG data clearinghouse.
To work in a team environment and to report to the Chief of the Data Science and DecisionSupport Division and to the coordinator of the Leave No Location Behind project.
Tasks duties and responsibilities
Contribute to collating geospatial geostatistical databases and related portal applications.
Locate identify and extract regional national and subnational data.
Develop efficient data collection analysis and dissemination methods.
Document the quality accuracy and consistency of data.
Help in the development of socioeconomic and environmental indicators.
Produce dashboards charts maps StoryMaps and infographics.
Conduct crossreferencing and validation of opensource data.
Outputs
To support the collation of geospatial and tabular data and to assist with the production of
StoryMaps toward GeoInsights for policy making.
To expand the geodata for client Atlas of the Arab World
To compile indicators after indepth quantitative and qualitative data analysis at different scales and coverage.
To quality assure and quality control data.
To work in a team environment and to report to the project coordinator.
Academic qualifications:
A university degree in statistics economics sciences or related fields.
Experience:
At least three years experience in spatial and tabular data extraction quality control quality assurance and evaluation of concepts sources and methods across open source datasets with particular emphasis on the Arab region.
At least three years of experience in geospatial attributes and metadata records.
Experience in extraction and consolidation of spatial and tabular data related to natural disasters renewable energy demographic and human displacement data.
Language:
English and French are the working languages of the client. Secretariat. For this post Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
Skills
Proficient in database development GIS applications advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint analytical research Geoapplications (ArcGIS StoryMaps) and data compilation.
Competency:
Strong planning and organizational abilities.
Capable of working flexibly and efficiently under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
