Job Description

You will be part of data engineering team for our data and analytics platforms. This role requires a mixture of handson strategic work and will also focus on developing Symbios data engineering capabilities across multiple teams. As a Data Warehouse Engineer your role also encompasses improving data and engineering practices and adhering to our agile processes. 

The Data Warehouse Engineer will be responsible for designing building and maintaining scalable and robust data pipelines architectures and infrastructure to support datadriven decisionmaking processes. You will have a proven track record of working with largescale data and analytics systems and be able to collaborate effectively with business analysts software engineers and other stakeholders.

There is an expectation that this role is part of the teams after hours support roster (level 3 which is rotated weekly for production critical platforms. We also understand that we as a team need to do everything we can ensure resilient and selfhealing platforms and data warehouse engineer will provide the time to make sure we do.


Qualifications :

What youll need to succeed:

  • A degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field or 35 years of relevant commercial experience in a comparable role
  • Extensive experience in modern data engineering practices.
  • Proven expertise in designing building and maintaining data analytics platforms including Data Warehouses and Data Lakes.
  • Handson experience with cloudbased data platforms particularly AWS. AWS Associate Developer or Architect certification is highly desirable.
  • Deep understanding of AWS data warehousing tools such as Glue Athena and Redshift.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Codeand CI/CD methodologies.
  • Strong background in distributed data processing technologies such as Kafka.
  • Proficiency with relational databases (e.g. MySQL PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases.
  • Solid experience in data modeling and schema design.
  • Advanced skills in at least one programming language such as Python or Java.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • A sense of ownership of technical projects and improvement of engineering practices
  • Solid and broad knowledge of software development methodologies (including Agile)
