Receive and respond to billing and insurance questions.
Essential Job Duties:
Data Entry; patient demographics daily charges surgery and delivery charges post insurance payments.
File insurance claims.
Appeal problem claims.
Generate and send patient bills.
Communicate and followup with AB collections.
Generate and review monthly A/R reports.
Update patient demographics changes in the system.
Balance daily copays.
Generate deposits fax copay to Privia Medical Group Gulf Coast
Insurance precertification of surgeries.
Notify the patient and office manager of a presurgery deposit due.
Communicate with Insurance companies; deliveries or extended surgical stays.
Function as a float receptionist.
Assist with filing.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
3 years of comprehensive experience in a medical/physician office environment.
3 years of medical collections experience.
3 years working knowledge of CPT and ICD10 coding standards.
OB/GYN billing experience (Preferred)
Athena EMR experience (Preferred)
Education/Certificate/License
High School Graduate or GED
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Professional Biller (CPB) Certifications
The ongoing compensation for this vacancy is $24 per hour commensurate with experience.
Physical Demands
Work may require sitting for long periods of time; also stooping bending and stretching for files and supplies; occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds; requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard operate a telephone copier and such other office equipment as necessary; vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts; it is necessary to view and type on computer screens for long periods and to work in an environment which is very stressful.
