Job Summary:
As the Assistant Program Manager for Planning you will oversee longrange planning initiatives to preserve and redevelop the State Capitol Campus and DESmanaged facilities statewide. This role is essential in shaping the future of key infrastructure and ensuring alignment with legislative and stakeholder goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead planning projects for the State Capitol Campus and DESmanaged facilities shaping longterm infrastructure strategies.
- Collaborate with state officials agencies and stakeholders to address campus growth and infrastructure needs effectively.
- Oversee project design planning and to ensure alignment with scope budget and timelines.
- Manage and mentor a team of up to 10 staff including Senior Facilities and Environmental Planners fostering professional growth.
- Represent DES in highlevel meetings and advisory committees serving as a key voice in planning discussions.
- Drive continuous improvement through LEAN practices and problemsolving initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications You Bring:
Required:
- Bachelors degree in urban planning architecture public administration or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 8 years of management experience in public works engineering or urban planning.
- 2 years of supervisory experience leading teams.
Preferred:
- Professional license in architecture or engineering (Washington State).
- Strong knowledge of Washingtons GMA SEPA SMA and other relevant laws.
- Expertise in urban design and visual communication tools.
- Familiarity with LEED standards and sustainable design concepts.
- Advanced skills in project/program management public procurement methods and strategic planning.
Salary Range:
Full Time Permanent $122000.00 $130000.00 Annually
