Provide quality instruction to Ophthalmic Assisting students in both the classroom and clinical settings.
Duties
Provide quality instruction to Ophthalmic Assisting students in both the classroom and clinical settings. Submit all applicable program documentation in accordance with established JCAHPO program guidelines and time frames. Ensure that all training and skill activities adhere to the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology JCAHPO standards. Continue to establish new clinical sites and keep current clinical affiliations updated. Serve as Program Director for required program accreditation. Maintain currency of program curriculum and manage onsite ophthalmic lab and equipment.
Minimum Requirements
1. Two years of work experience in an ophthalmic practice. 2. JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Technician COT or higher. (Certification must be attached to online application) 3. Demonstrated organizational skills and successful experience managing program records. 4. Demonstrated communication skills in order to effectively convey information to a diverse student population.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Familiarity with local ophthalmic community. 2. Experience teaching adult learners.
