Job Description

Position Overview: We are looking for a versatile and skilled MultiSkilled Building Services Engineer with a strong focus on building fabric to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in various building services disciplines with a particular bias towards building fabric maintenance and repair. This role requires the ability to perform a wide range of technical tasks related to building fabric as well as a working knowledge of other building services systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity functionality and aesthetic appeal of the building fabric components within our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Building Fabric Maintenance:

Conduct regular inspections of building fabric components including walls ceilings floors roofs doors and windows to identify defects damage or deterioration.

Perform routine maintenance tasks such as painting plastering sealing and caulking to preserve and enhance the appearance and structural integrity of building fabric elements.

Repair or replace damaged or worn building fabric materials fixtures and fittings to maintain a safe secure and comfortable environment for occupants.

2. Technical Expertise:

Demonstrate proficiency in a variety of building fabric maintenance and repair techniques including carpentry masonry glazing and general construction.

Utilize hand and power tools effectively to perform tasks such as drilling cutting sanding and shaping building materials.

Apply knowledge of building regulations standards and best practices to ensure compliance and quality in all building fabric works.

3. CrossDisciplinary Collaboration:

Work closely with other building services engineers and technicians to coordinate maintenance activities and address issues that may impact multiple systems or disciplines.

Provide support and assistance to colleagues working on mechanical electrical and plumbing systems as needed to facilitate efficient and effective maintenance operations.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders including facility managers tenants and contractors to coordinate work schedules prioritize tasks and ensure customer satisfaction.

4. Health and Safety Compliance:

Adhere to health and safety regulations and procedures at all times including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe working practices.

Identify and mitigate potential hazards associated with building fabric maintenance activities such as working at heights handling hazardous materials or working in confined spaces.

Report any health and safety concerns or incidents promptly to the appropriate personnel and participate in investigations and corrective actions as required.

Qualifications:

Relevant trade qualification in carpentry masonry or general construction.

Previous experience in building fabric maintenance and repair preferably in a facilities management or similar environment.

Demonstrated proficiency in a range of building fabric disciplines with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail with the ability to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.
