MalaceHR is seeking an experienced Operating Engineer to operate maintain troubleshoot and repair facility equipment and systems. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise in one craft area (Electrical HVAC Piping/Plumbing Central Utility Plant Operations) and be multiskilled in other areas. This position requires a proactive and adaptable individual who can ensure the smooth operation of all facility systems and handle both routine and emergency maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance repairs and monitoring of mechanical plumbing structural furniture fire life safety and control systems to ensure optimal facility operations.
- Take responsibility for facility services including preventative maintenance purchasing inventory control contracted maintenance and general maintenance.
- Maintain HVAC systems and associated equipment including cleaning inspecting calibrating and replacing parts to achieve optimal performance.
- Record system readings make necessary adjustments and ensure proper equipment operation.
- Ensure safe storage usage and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
- Perform periodic checks on tool and instrument inventory ensuring readiness for use.
- Monitor quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors.
- Adhere to all safety procedures maintain good housekeeping practices and actively identify and address safety hazards.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 810 years of experience in maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
- Indepth knowledge of mechanical electrical plumbing and HVAC systems with the ability to analyze operations and resolve malfunctions.
- EPA 608 Type II Certification required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- EPA 608 Universal Certification.
- Two years of trades schooling in electrical system design refrigeration and HVAC.
Work Schedule:
- Shiftbased work with 12hour days. The schedule follows a rotating shift pattern: two days on two days off followed by three days on and two days off.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be comfortable working with computers and utilizing Excel for jobrelated tasks.
