Job Description
Job Title: Mainframe IMS Database Administrator
Location: Remote within USA. Need to come to pick up equipment on Day 1 at Austin TX)
Job Description:
1. IMS Database Administration & Maintenance
Administer and maintain IMS application databases in all environments (development test production).
Perform database tuning performance monitoring backup and recovery.
Execute forward recoveries and select valid points for database restoration.
Utilize DBRC/RECONS and List reports for IMS database management.
Perform IMS Catalog maintenance and work with IMS HAL databases.
2. Troubleshooting & Application Support
Resolve application issues involving IMS databases.
Assist application programmers in test environments with DBRCrelated issues.
Investigate and fix DBRCrelated abends in production.
Refresh development/test databases with production backup images as needed.
3. Mainframe Systems Administration
Oversee z/OS platform operations ensuring security and compliance.
Utilize TSO SYSVIEW SDSF JSF IDCAMS IEBGENER IEFBR14 and other IBM utilities.
Support batch and CICS COBOL applications including JCL development and troubleshooting.
Coordinate mainframe software upgrades testing and disaster recovery with the DCS vendor.
4. Production Control & Scheduling
Maintain and manage Mainframe Production Control Jobs.
Provide afterhours support for batch schedule COBOL and JCL programs.
Assist with application deployments and environment setup during development.
