Key things we are looking for:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience with direct diesel engine.
  • ONLY INDUSTRIAL experience. Small residential experience with generators is not the same. These generators are massive. 4kw2000 (some 2500 now too)
  • New Unit Installs and Commissioning Switch Gear and Paralleling (Great to Have)
  • Not only experience working on the ENGINE but the ELECTRICAL side of it as well.
  • Training Process Depends on experience: FastTrack if available; initial safety training 70E load banking

In this role you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Completing preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on generators or components at the customer site with minimal direction.
  • Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Applying the use of specialized tools and following documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs including preparing required parts and tools.
  • Completing required documentation such as service worksheets timesheets warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
  • Completing training in line with skill and business requirements.
  • Adhere to all our relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.

Qualifications and Competencies

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
  • High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
  • Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision hands on exposure to working on power generation products.

Technician Level II:

  • Some relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on an intermediate number of products inscope for a diesel technician at this location; primarily engaged in moderately complex maintenance and repair; some exposure to moderate or complex diagnostics requires limited direct supervision may provide basic training or guidance to new technicians.

Technician Level III:

  • Significant relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on most or all of products inscope for a technician at this location; frequently engaged in complex diagnosis and repair; requires minimal to no supervision; ability to effectively train and guide less experienced technicians of varying skillsets.

Education Licenses Certifications

  • Apprentice Certified Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)
  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
  • Current relevant electrical certification
  • Locally valid driving permit
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

  • Base salary rate commensurate with experience.

  • The successful candidate will be subject to our PreEmployment Background Screening process that consists of a Criminal Background Check as well as Education and Work Experience Verification.
  • This position will require a MedCard and we will also be required to complete a DMV driving report. CANDIDATE MUST BE 21 YEARS OLD.
  • A current valid license is required for this role.
  • This role requires a 5year motor vehicle report free from major violations.
  • This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
  • 3 years driving experience.
  • This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use.
  • Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older applicant must be 21 years of age.

Note: Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors including a candidates qualifications and experience where appropriate.
