The Quality and Development Coordinator will be responsible for providing support to the newborn hearing screening programmes and the diabetic eye screening programme in Ireland and SASH. They will help oversee clinical operational and administrative activities of the screening programmes advise and guide on QA matters be responsible for the quality of training and lead service improvement initiatives. This will involve working with and across a wide range of stakeholder organisations. The post holder will ensure the programme is delivered in line with national standards providing an excellent screening service with the aim of early detection and prevention of hearing and sight loss.
Main responsibilities and opportunities:
The QA and Training Coordinator has a responsibility for ensuring the quality and continuous service improvement of the screening programmes and will support the programmes administratively.
To identify opportunities provide succession planning and identify training opportunities for the programmes
To identify areas of improvement that can be actioned via performance reviews objective setting and training.
Responsible for reporting on the programme using bespoke software and presenting this data effectively to diverse stakeholders.
To ensure that all SOPs files records documentation and audits are actioned and maintained appropriately
in accordance with appropriate legislation and confidentiality is maintained at all times.
To ensure continuous improvement within the programmes using Service Improvement Plans Audits Reporting and Analysis to provide feedback and development within the programmes.
Ensure each programme has appropriate resilience to conduct capacity planning rota management and workforce management.
Responsibility for conducting Health and Safety assessments and training risk assessments business continuity planning patient complaints/feedback incident recording and incident investigation.
Assist in the managing of performance of colleagues and processes ensuring the quality of service is of a high standard ensuring effective communication on a regular basis. Encourage and participate in training and educational programmes to enhance colleague performance.
Responsible for ensuring colleague training probation reviews are conducted Elearning and regular trainings are attended and are of an appropriate quality. Colleague refresher and regular workshops are in place and attendance is monitored.
Responsible for programme procurement and raising orders.
Responsible for each programme reporting and feedback on all operational and KPI matters.
To have a flexible approach to the changing needs of the local services and the company as a whole.
Qualifications :
Qualifications work experience:
Experience with working in a healthcare setting
Experience with large remote teams
Experience in screening newborn hearing screening and diabetic retinopathy screening would be an advantage.
Show initiative attention to detail ability to prioritise tasks and problem solving skills.
Ability to use effective communication skills both written and oral within a multidisciplinary team at all levels and with patients/stakeholders in a calm sensitive and reassuring way. As well as the ability to work successfully across professional organisations and with a multitude of stakeholders
Must display people management skills.
The post holder must be IT literate with experience of using bespoke screening database software and a knowledge of information governance
Capability to work largely unsupervised but with the responsibility of close supervision of other clinical/clerical colleagues within the programme.
Must display a good level of initiative ability to prioritise tasks and to use problem solving skills but must be able to exercise openness through consulting with line managers at all times
Must be willing to participate and evidence continuing professional development (CPD)
A full driving licence and preferably your own transport to travel to and from venues and other places of work within the programme area.
This role is exempt from the Criminal Justice (Spent convictions and certain disclosures) Act 2016. Successful applicants will be required to provide full details of any previous cautions and convictions and undertake an enhanced disclosure with the Disclosure & Barring Service upon entry and thereafter every 3 years or the equivalent.
Knowledge

Flexibility to travel within Ireland and UK
Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Candidates must be able to demonstrate a preexisting right to work and travel within the EU. Documentary evidence will be requested at interview.
