Job Description
Job Title: Data Engineer
Job Location: Chesterfield MO or Mount Sterling IL (onsite)
Job Type: C2H 6 months contract to Hire)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design test and maintain robust data pipelines that support advanced analytics. The ideal candidate will have expertise in transforming complex datasets automating data processes and ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives. This role requires strong collaboration with IT and business stakeholders to deliver critical insights while adhering to best practices in data management and analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Automate data ingestion and transformation from diverse sources including flat files remote servers databases legacy systems message queues and APIs.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance system and business efficiencies.
- Cleanse and transform data for analytical applications across multiple levels of the business.
- Utilize a variety of technologies and methodologies including scripting and programming languages to develop scalable data solutions.
- Design deploy and maintain machine learning/artificial intelligence data pipelines.
- Work closely with vendors and consultants to ensure seamless integration of data solutions.
- Apply lean thinking principles to identify and eliminate inefficiencies in data workflows.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field.
- 3 years of experience in:
- Applied SQL development.
- Data warehousing and analytics.
- Data engineering.
- 1 years of handson experience with IBM Cloud or equivalent IBM certification including:
- Db2 Warehouse.
- Cloud Pak for Data.
- Watsonx platforms.
- Proficiency in objectoriented programming with experience in Python Java or C#.
- Handson experience with IBM DataStage and Python for ETL and data pipeline development.
- Strong interpersonal skills with effective professional verbal and written communication.
