Smithers Engineering is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in Flowood MS. As a Civil Engineer with Smithers you will be instrumental in contributing to a wide range of projects spanning from site development to infrastructure design. Responsibilities:
Site Layout: Develop comprehensive site layout plans that optimize land use while adhering to project specifications and regulatory requirements.
Grading: Utilize your expertise in grading to ensure proper land shaping and contouring for optimal drainage aesthetics and functionality.
Storm Water Design: Design effective storm water management systems to mitigate runoff and erosion ensuring compliance with local state and federal regulations.
Utility Layout and Design: Plan and design utility infrastructure including water supply sewer and drainage systems with a focus on efficiency sustainability and costeffectiveness.
Permitting: Navigate the permitting process effectively securing necessary approvals and ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies.
Project Management: Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architects surveyors and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery from conception to completion.
Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections and quality checks to uphold the highest standards of engineering excellence and safety.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
315 years of relevant experience in civil engineering.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant design software.
Strong understanding of local state and federal regulations related to land development and infrastructure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Experience in hydraulic modeling and analysis is a plus.
