AECOM Aviation team seeks a Senior Civil Aviation Design Engineer within the NY Metro Aviation Department. The Senior Design Engineer will deliver ongoing and future projects and mentor junior civil engineers. The focus for this role will be mainly centered in aviation projects and include airport pavement design lighting design of airport runway taxiway and site development along with aviation project management. Additional focus will be on airside work elements that included apron taxi lane hardstand and terminal pavements aircraft utility connections security fencing & blast wall airfield access points.

Primary functions will include but are not limited to the following:
Senior technical resource to serve as technical advisor for team
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staffs specific area of expertise.
Develops study and design procedures to facilitate highquality costeffective work by others.
Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
Prepares technical specification sections.
Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Qualifications :
Minimum requirements:
Bachelors in Civil Engineering 6 years of experience as an Aviation Designer with experience in apron taxiway and runway design. or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Professional Engineer (PE) License in the state of New York or New Jersey
Preferred qualifications:
Masters degree in Civil Engineering with a design focus.
10 years of aviation design experience
Experience coordination civil apron designs with Passenger Boarding Bridge and Hydrant Fueling requirements
Airfield drainage modeling
