An IT Asset Analyst is responsible for managing an organizations IT assets throughout their lifecycle from procurement to disposal. This role ensures that all IT assets (hardware software and related resources) are properly tracked maintained and compliant with company policies and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Asset Management:
Maintain and track the lifecycle of IT assets including hardware software and licenses.
Ensure accurate records for all IT assets within asset management systems.
Perform regular audits and reconciliation of IT assets.
Procurement Support:
Assist with the purchasing process by identifying asset requirements.
Liaise with vendors and manage procurement documentation.
Ensure all new assets are tagged and entered into the system.
Asset Lifecycle Management:
Track asset usage ensure compliance with licensing agreements and support the disposal process.
Monitor warranties service agreements and the condition of assets.
Manage the decommissioning and recycling process for obsolete or endoflife assets.
Software License Compliance:
Monitor software usage and ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
Maintain records of software licenses renewals and audits.
Provide recommendations to ensure software compliance.
Reporting and Analysis:
Generate reports on asset utilization depreciation and costs for management.
Analyze trends in asset performance and recommend improvements.
Collaboration and Support:
Work with IT procurement and finance teams to ensure smooth asset management processes.
Provide support for internal stakeholders regarding assetrelated queries.
Documentation and Policies:
Create and maintain documentation for asset management processes and policies.
Ensure compliance with internal security policies and external regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Information Technology Business or a related field (preferred).
Strong understanding of asset management principles and practices.
Experience with asset management software and tools.
Detailoriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams.
Knowledge of IT procurement software licensing and lifecycle management.
Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and asset management tools (e.g. ServiceNow Lansweeper).
Analytical skills for tracking and reporting on asset data.
Strong problemsolving abilities.
Knowledge of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) or other IT management frameworks (preferred).
