Junior QA Engineer

As a Junior QA Engineer you will work in a collaborative fashionwithin software engineering teams and will beresponsible for testing new features and code changes.You will be comfortable operating within the frameworkof our testing procedures and reporting processes with an excellent teamwork focusedapproach.

You willhelp to perform both manual and automated testing of oursoftware with some hardware interactions. There will also be testing of packages supplied byour first and third party manufacturers and suppliers. You will be responsible for ensuring thehighest quality of our new interactive audio products and backwards compatibility for ourcustomers around the world.

What were looking for

A fastidious QA engineer with an interest in software and hardware products. You may have previously worked on hardware products and experienced the process of taking these to market. This is not an essential skill but we would really appreciate candidates with an interest in both software and hardware products!

The following are highly desirable but we do not expect you to have them all:

• 13 years of experience in a similar QA/Test position.
• Exposure to Linux environments.
  
• A strong working knowledge of tools such as Jira and Qase experience with Git would also be beneficial.
• Experience with (or a vested interest in)telephony/VOIP communication systems & software.
• A team player who is able to collaborate effectively and motivated to work as part of a highly supportive and collaborative QA team.
• Familiarity with OOP languages such as Java and Python.
• A great eye for detail and a strong bias for action.
• An interest in or knowledge ofaudio software/hardware and tooling.
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills to aid indiagnosing issues from customers.
• Anunderstanding of Agile processes and experience of working within Agile environments.
• A desire to continuously improve and take on new challenges.
• ISEB or ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level.

What youll do

• Design and execute tests for hardware peripherals and related software.
• Test both our own and third party software on hardware platforms.
• Failure analysis regression testing reporting and documentation using tools such as Qase and Jira.
• Be an advocate for the QA process always putting quality first.
• Compatibility testing of firmware configurations across our range of products.
• Liaising with both internal and external development teams on a daily basis.
• Occasional field testing onsite with customers in the UK.
• Identifying opportunities for improvement or automation of our processes.
• Owning your domain taking responsibility for everything you see deserving of change.
• Helping your colleagues meet their commitments through close collaboration.
• High availability and flexibility to always pitchin on a problem.
• Maintaining tight alignment within the QA discipline across the teams through regularguild meeting attendance and thoughtful contributions.
