Job Description
Job Title: Sr. Data Engineer
Location: Tampa FL(Hybrid)
Duration: Full Time
Responsibilities:
- Will be working with a global team of 10 BAs at all different levels and we deal with financial products. All have knowledge of financial products
- Not managing all the people directly. People report into their local leads but projectwise they might not report to the people they work under in the company directory. This resource may have people report to them or their lead from different locations depending on the projects
- Daily we talk to our clients and vendors to ensure vendors are able to provide data we need to file
- All types of financial products
- Involves reference data for those financial products
- Senior role that requires experience leading a team
- Strong analysis and testing background with financial products
- Extract data strong SQL. Storedprocedure or technical SQL not required. Enough to do database table design. Should be able to do analysis and understand what that field is in relation to the financial products as well as the data model to make the right decisions of where to put this field
- Handson person. Strong analysis needed to be done based on the requirement
- Know the life cycles of financial products as we support clearances lending compliances etc.
- Not looking for a superstar even though this is a senior position. Ok if they dont know everything but need to have indepth knowledge in certain areas. if it is not the width it is the depth. You should have deep knowledge about something or know a little bit about a lot of things
- Not the usual BA team. Dont just talk to the users and add a word document. Before we write the document we come up with the business and technical solutions for the different layers of our components. In addition to that we add mapping documents that a developer will follow and they dont need to know what the business is asking or think we put it together for them and they write a code. After that we test. We make sure what they wrote is what we asked for. Then we work with our users on the UAT (user acceptance testing). I would call us the Product Owner. We know our applications and come up with solutions to support the business asks
- Vendor product implementation we have over 17 million active financial products in our system and have a lot of inactive products in our system. They cover the global and OTC Exchange etc. 99 of the data comes from our vendors that pump data into our apps and we process them daily or sometimes realtime. We need to be able to have some strong knowledge in one of these areas for reference data
