Job Description
- Inspect maintain and repair hydraulic systems and components.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop maintenance plans.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
- Understand and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Adhere to safety regulations and protocols at all times.
- Assist in the installation of hydraulic systems and machinery.
- Evaluate equipment performance and recommend improvements.
- Perform routine checks and testing of machinery.
- Utilize welding techniques for equipment repairs as necessary.
- Train and guide junior fitters and apprentices.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the maintenance area.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns promptly and efficiently.
- Maintain inventory of parts and supplies for repairs.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further technical training is a plus.
- Proven experience as a fitter or in a related maintenance role.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Certification in relevant technical fields (e.g. welding mechanical maintenance).
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices in maintenance work.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical schematics and blueprints.
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used in hydraulic maintenance.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy machinery parts.
- Excellent problemsolving abilities and mechanical understanding.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts or overtime as needed.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Valid drivers license and good driving record.
- Ability to follow instructions and execute tasks efficiently.
