Infrastructure Engineers implement manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical virtual networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services. The Infrastructure and Application Automation Engineer uses their indepth knowledge ICT infrastructure and applications to provide efficiencies through the automation of deployment and daytoday activities. They will be required to work closely with business areas to ensure the provisioning of a robust infrastructure and application capability to the business that is in line with vendor requirements and departmental coding best practices.

Engaging a flexible ICT workforce will enable the Buyer to augment its requirements for the major work programs being undertaken.
Key duties and responsibilities
Develop maintain and support automation of ICT Infrastructure and applications.
Develop maintain and support the department s vRealize Automation (vRA) platform.
Create blueprints and workflows that aim to improve efficiencies of daily operational tasks.
Develop code / scripts inline with departmental standards
Technical skills
Experience in the delivery of IaaS PaaS and XaaS with VMWare Aria Automation Experience developing complex workflows in VMWare Orchestrator Proficient in Javascript Powershell Bash and Python Experience in the delivery of PaaS IaaS and XaaS through VMWare vRealize Automation Experience supporting maintaining and developing the VMWare vRealize Automation toolset
Criteria
The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters.
Essential criteria
1. IT infrastructure: Level 3 (SFIA)
Provisions/installs configures and maintains infrastructure services and components. Monitors measures and reports on infrastructure load performance and security events. Identifies operational issues and contributes to their resolution. Carries out agreed operational procedures including backup/restore using supplied infrastructure tools and scripts. Carries out agreed system software maintenance tasks. Automates routine system administration tasks to specifications using standard tools and basic scripting.
2. Programming/software development: Level 2 (SFIA)
Designs codes verifies tests documents amends and refactors simple programs/scripts. Applies agreed standards and tools to achieve a wellengineered result. Reviews own work.
3. Systems installation and removal: Level 3 (SFIA)
Installs or removes hardware and/or software using supplied installation instructions and tools including handover to the client. Uses standard procedures and diagnostic tools to test installations correct problems and document results. Records details of all components that have been installed and removed. Assists users and follows agreed procedures for further help or escalation. Contributes to the development of installation procedures and standards.
Additional requirements
1. The security clearance is required for the role. Does the candidate have the required clearance (as a minimum)
2. To identify potential conflicts of interest is the candidate a director/owner/account manager/partner of a Seller registered on BuyICT If so provide the Position Title Seller Name and Seller ABN.
3. Provide details (e.g. manager branch) of candidates previous worked history either as a contractor or employee for the Buyer including its former agencies such as the Department of Human Services.
