Architecture Intern

Our Buildings Places practice includes architecture interiors building and system engineering urbanism and planning (inclusive of landscape design) strategy economics technology solutions asset advisory and cost and program management.  This diverse team assists our clients from strategy through project realization creating positive outcomes for those who occupy and use the buildings and environments we help to create.  Our Ohio studio focuses on the Commercial/Corporate Science and Technology Higher Education and Federal market sectors.  We look to combine beauty sustainability resiliency equity and innovation in our projects and believe these values can be instilled in any project regardless of size or budget. 

AECOM is seeking an Architectural Intern to be based in the Columbus OH office.

This position is expected to begin in May  2025.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• Assist in the preparation of designs quantity calculations sketches diagrams schematic drawings and final working drawings.
• Use computer software as a tool for solving basic architectural problems.
• Maintain conformance with building standards established architectural practices and applicable building codes.
• Work under the supervision of a project manager or seniorlevel team member.
• Must be proficient in all the latest architectural and graphic design software platforms.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements: 

• Candidates must be pursuing a bachelors degree or higher in architecture or a related field and must have completed at least one year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelors degree and plan to continue with the masters degree are eligible to apply for these positions.  Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelors degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience with BIMRevit AutoCAD or other related CADD software.
•  Experience in the use of computers for making architectural drawings calculations and 3D visual simulations.
• A university student who has more than one year of school remaining before earning a degree is preferred these students typically are Freshmen Sophomores or Juniors in university
• Successful Interns may be eligible to return for additional internships
• An ability to work collaboratively as a team player with both junior staff and senior leadership.
