Indiana University Luddy School of Informatics Computing and Engineering Assistant or Associate Professor in Informatics (HumanComputer Interaction Design) The Luddy School of Informatics Computing and Engineering (https://luddy.indiana/ at Indiana University (IU) in Bloomington Indiana invites applications for a tenuretrack assistant professor or a tenuretrack/tenured associate professor position in the Department of Informatics to begin on August 1 2025 in the area of HumanComputer Interaction Design HCI /d). The assistant or associate professor appointee will serve as a core faculty member of our HCI /design HCI /d) program (https://informatics.indiana/programs/mshci.html) one of the most preeminent programs of its kind with a more than twentyyear history and an international reputation. We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach and mentor students in one or more of the following areas: Accessibility Social Informatics HumanCentered AI Visualization Design Theory and Philosophy and Critical Computing. We seek candidates prepared to contribute to our commitment to diversity and inclusion in higher education especially those with experience in teaching or working with diverse student populations. The HCI /d faculty members duties will include in person teaching research service and mentorship of students at the undergraduate M.S. and Ph.D. levels. The applicant is expected participate in teaching one or more core studio courses in the M.S. curriculum while also contributing to other courses in the broader M.S. and Ph.D. curriculum. The Luddy School is a core school with programs on the Bloomington campus and the Indianapolis campus. Departments in the Luddy Schools Bloomington campus include Computer Science Information and Library Science Informatics and Intelligent Systems Engineering with over 150 faculty and 3100 students at IUB . IU Bloomington is a major public research university with over 1500 tenureline faculty and 40000 students. The beautiful campus hosts several research centers and institutes as well as a wide array of distinguished academic departments and schools. IU is renowned for its highperformance computing and networking facilities topranked music school and performing and fine arts. Located in the wooded rolling hills of southern Indiana Bloomington is a culturally thriving college town with a moderate cost of living and the amenities for an active lifestyle.
