Job Purpose
The Respiratory Therapy Manager leads the overall daily operation of the respiratory team with accountability for compliance with regulatory and professional standards for patient care units and staff. This position provides compassionate & competent respiratory care so that we have the opportunity to feel the joy of impacting the lives of our patients their families and our coworkers.
Work Schedule
The primary work schedule for this position will be Monday Friday 8:00a 4:30p; however this role will likely also have some oversight over the night shift staff and therefore must be available should a need arise.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Duty
Percent of Time
An active member within the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordination for the respiratory plan of care oversee and implement department related updates participation in Team Meetings and Patient Care Conferences.

While direct care tasks may not always be performed by the Respiratory manager they remain responsible for ensuring tasks are being completed by their direct reports.

Participate in department planning and improvement efforts.

Collaborates with staff to ensure their workplace needs are met; one on one rounds annual evaluations maintains an open line of communication actively seeks input from staff.

Analyze data regularly and recommend process improvements.

Participates in an oncall rotation.

Supervisory Responsibility
Direct Reports: Respiratory Therapy Department employees (CRT RRT Provisional RTs Equipment Technician).
Scope: participate in applicant interviews complete counseling and disciplinary action as necessary including terminations complete annual performance evaluations approve employee time sheets oversee staff schedules analyze employee and patient trends to guide performance improvement.
Qualifications
Education:
Associate of Science or Associate of Applied Science Degree in Respiratory Therapy required. Bachelors degree preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of 8 years as a Registered Respiratory Therapist preferably in pediatrics.
A minimum of 3 years of meaningful leadership experience in Respiratory Therapy or a related field.
License/Certification/Credential:
Current Respiratory Care Practitioner licensed by the Oklahoma Medical Board.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
Current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certification (or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire).
