Job Summary
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine is seeking a residencytrained board certified/board eligible Assistant or Associate Professor or Professor. The successful candidate must be committed to excellence in clinical care as well as teaching administration and professional development. Preferred experience includes previous experience in providing psychiatric and addiction medicine services to adults as well as experience in teaching medical students residents and other health professionals. This position will be instrumental to providing ambulatory and inpatient psychiatric services to adults. This position will primarily provide ambulatory psychiatric care and substance use treatment services and will participate in oncall coverage of our Behavioral Health Unit and related inpatient services. This position may also serve as the Director of Substance Use Services for the Department of Psychiatry and may serve as a member of the departments leadership team. This Director role is responsible for working with ambulatory clinic leadership to manage the daily operations of the SMART Clinic and to provide guidance and leadership in the provision of substance use treatment services within the Department of Psychiatry. Our Adult Psychiatry and Behavioral Health programs offer an array of specialized programs including: Adult Affective Disorders Clinic Psychopharmacology Anxiety Disorders Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Clinic and Supportive Medication Assisted Recovery and Treatment Program SMART . In addition to our inpatient behavioral health program we offer outpatient services at our Fountain Court location in Lexington KY. The Department of Psychiatry is comprised of a team of highly skilled clinicians and staff working together to create a Culture of Health. The Department employs physicians psychologists therapists and other mental health professionals to provide a wide variety of behavioral health and substance use treatment services at multiple locations. Our clinicians provide care at our UK Psychiatric & Behavioral Health Care Clinic at Fountain Court Lexington KY Albert B. Chandler Hospital Lexington KY Good Samaritan Hospital Lexington KY Eastern State Hospital Lexington KY as well as various other clinics and departments throughout the UK HealthCare system and outside organizations throughout Kentucky. Our team of researchers are working to advance the understanding of behavioral health and how behavioral health conditions are managed and treated. Our department has five ACGME certified residency training programs which focus on training more than 50 physicians each year to become the future leaders in psychiatry. The Department of Psychiatrys administrative education and research offices are located near the Hamburg area of Lexington at 245 Fountain Ct. Lexington KY 40509.
