What youd be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNAbut we like to think thats all part of the fun. This will give you a flavour of the type of things youll be working on when you start but this will likely evolve.
At the moment this role is focused on:
Building services tools and frameworks that help rapidly and effectively solve user issues across multiple domains.
Collaborating closely with stakeholders and designers to create worldclass support experiences.
Developing AIpowered conversational support guided user experiences and automated issue resolution.
Creating interactive selfhelp tools that enhance user experience while minimising reliance on support specialists.
Identifying and improving methodologies for backend engineering best practices.
Finding opportunities for crossteam collaboration to work on new ideas and improvements.
Mentoring and empowering other engineers within the team.
Youre probably a match if
Youre a Senior Backend Engineer with a proven track record of solving complex problems.
You have disciplined coding practices experience with code reviews and pull requests and you model best practices to your peers.
You enjoy working collaboratively with team members communicating effectively and taking ownership of projects and outcomes.
You have experience building scalable backend services and optimising AIdriven solutions for user support.
Youve perfected the balance between bigpicture thinking and nailing the details.
Youre excited by the opportunity to contribute to a rapidly growing and critical function of Canva and improve the help experience for millions of people around the world.

The User Help Experience group is part of the User Voice Supergroup. The Contextual SelfHelp teams mission is to empower users to solve their issues through interactive selfhelp AIpowered experiences and automation.
