About the Role:
As a fulltime Sociology Teacher you will be responsible for delivering engaging and wellstructured Sociology lessons to Key Stages 4 and 5 covering topics such as social inequality crime and deviance and the sociology of education. You will develop and adapt resources to meet the diverse learning needs of students promoting critical analysis and independent thinking. You will assess student progress through essays presentations and research projects providing timely and constructive feedback. You will also contribute to departmental meetings and potentially lead extracurricular sociology clubs or debates.
Ideal Candidate:
You should hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Sociology or a related field with a strong understanding of sociological theories and research methods. Proven experience in teaching Sociology at the secondary level preferably in a boys school setting is essential. Excellent communication and facilitation skills are crucial as is the ability to foster critical thinking and independent learning. You should also possess a commitment to staying abreast of current social trends and sociological research.
