About this opportunity

This role will sit with Sulo which operates a highly automated plastic injection moulding plant in Somersby Central Coast of NSW renowned for manufacturing wheelie bins. Our worldclass facility utilises advanced technology for Mobile Garbage Bin (MGB) production.

The Health Safety Environmental and Sustainability (HSES) Advisor is responsible for implementing policies procedures and initiatives to foster a safe healthy and environmentally sustainable workplace.

The position will provide a connection between the Site Divisional and Group level HSES activities and will drive the implementation of the Group HSES Systems while ensuring compliance with all health safety environmental and sustainability regulations and standards in accordance with Australian laws and industry best practices. 

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify hazards assess risks and implement corrective actions to mitigate potential incidents.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to management and employees on HSE matters
  • Lead incident investigations
  • Monitor changes in legislation and industry standards and ensure timely updates to policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to promote awareness and enhance competencies in HSE and sustainability practices.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role youll have:

  • Proven experience in health safety environmental and sustainability management within a manufacturing environment in Australia.
  • Indepth knowledge of Australian health safety environmental and sustainability legislation and regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and influence stakeholders across different levels and backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation techniques

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in environmental science occupational health and safety sustainability or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety or Diploma of Work Health and Safety are advantageous.
  • Training and certifications in specific Australian regulations and standards relevant to manufacturing operations (e.g. WHS Act AS/NZS ISO 45001:2018 are preferred.
