Job Description
The primary function of this role is to provide Personal Care Assistance or Certified Nursing Assistance services to the individual in their home. These tasks include:
- Assisting with household chores cleaning changing linens trash disposal)
- Assisting with bathing and hygiene
- Assisting with toileting
- Assisting with transfers walking exercise or ambulation when needed
- Assisting with activities of daily living( personal grooming and dressing)
- Assisting with grocery shopping
- Meal and snack preparations
- Assistance with reminders and monitoring medication
- Assist with scheduling appointments
- Assist with transporting to appointments
- Overnight support if needed
Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or GED
- First Aid and CPR certification
- CNA/ PCT certification required
- Must be very familiar with or previously trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
- Must be very familiar and efficient with working with individuals with behaviors and able to execute redirection techniques
- Bilingual preferred but not required
- Must have at least three(3 years of RECENT experience in a healthrelated field nursing homes day program services home health care private duty care or working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Must be able to provide references and contacts of previous employers.
- Must have experience working with wheelchair bound patients able to lift and assist with transfers and or utilize a hoyer lift.
- Above average communication skills: oral and written
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to transport individuals as needed
- Must be able to work independently without direct supervision
- Must be able to pay attention to detail and report adequately.
- Must be willing to write/type documentation
- Must be familiar with Therap documentation system
- Must be creative and willing to think outside the box
- Must have the ability to utilize effective decisionmaking
- Must be able to work cooperatively with individuals and their family
- Must be able to follow procedures and emergency protocols properly
- Must be willing to complete FBI Background check it will be required through the GA Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities if offered the position
- Must be willing to complete a TB test/ Physical
- Must possess a valid drivers license and insurance and be willing to provide a Motor Vehicle Report.
- Must be willing and able to follow ALL COVID19 guidelines in accordance with recommendations from the CDC and the policies of GA DBHDD

DAYS/EVENINGS/OVERNIGHTS/WEEKENDSPRN (LIVE IN PREFERRED)
MUST HAVE A VALIDS DRIVERS LICENSE AND WILLING TO DRIVE
MUST BE FLEXIBLE AND WILLING TO WORK ADDITIONAL HRS IF NEEDED
MUST BE ABLE TO FOLLOW PROCEDURES AND POLICIES OF THE AGENCY
MAY BE REQUIRED TO TAKE COVID TESTS TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF ALL INDIVIDUALS SERVED AND EMPLOYEES
