Open Door is currently seeking a Dental Assistant for its Ossining NY location to assist in the provision of dental services. The Dental Assistant performs a variety of patient care office and laboratory duties (Assisting the dentist preparing patients for treatment taking xrays scheduling dental appointments). Candidates are expected to travel between sites if its necessary but not more than 20 of the time.
As an Open Door employee you would be eligible to participate in Open Doors Retention Bonus Plan which pays a quarterly bonus of $750 beginning the first quarter following 3 months of employment as long as you remain an active employee in good standing. The Retention Bonus Plan will continue until December 2025.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides chairside assistance when necessary during dental treatment
- Assures that dental records medical records and encounter forms are available for the dentist or dental hygienist
- Prepares patient for examinations and treatment including placement of bib and instruments for procedure
- Maintains supplies and instruments in all dental procedures
- Performs laboratory and xray tasks under the supervision of a dentist
- Make appointments for patients. Verifies the need for return appointments
- Greets visitors and patients in a courteous prompt and friendly manner
- Determines their needs checks appointments and gives appropriate information
- If Designated as responsible for Bio biohazardous waste removal complete online training and receive a certificate prior to completing this task.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- 1 Year of dental assistance experience required.
- Superior customer service skills and experience
- Passionate about providing highquality care to lowincome.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
- Engage in learning and continuous quality improvement
- Outstanding verbal and written communication with a culturally diverse patient and staff population
